About Andrew Heaton

"Intense stare" doesn't even begin to cover it.

Who I am

My name is Andrew. I'm a UK-based freelance writer and editor with a decent slab of experience to offer. I've worked in video games journalism in the past, but I also have experience in SEO-related web content. Yes, I agree; I really am a party animal.

I have a BA (hons) in Creative & Professional Writing, achieving a 2:1. I also have an MA in Social & Cultural Theory, but it's up to you to decide whether that's relevant to your interests or not. Ooh, I also *nearly* got me a PhD. Nearly. Still. Plod on, eh.

I've written for some well-known gaming sites, including Destructoid, PCGamesN, and Rock Paper Shotgun, and I've also worked with marketing clients and businesses, such as Croud, as well as improving content quality for independent clients.

I'm passionate about literature and comedy, and have been a longtime gamer. Is the gaming industry perfect? Pfft, not by a long shot, bucko!  But it will always hold a special place in my heart. I recently finished Resident Evil 9. My favourite bit was the bit where I did the shooting of the zombies.

I'm open to working with small business, particularly those that are new, including video game developers and studios. And if you're from Herefordshire, we'll call that a cheeky bonus, though it's not a requirement.

I have a beard. If that seals the deal.
